From June 27 to 29, 2025, the IABSE Congress took place in Ghent. This year’s theme was “The Essence of Structural Engineering for Society.” No fewer than 11 of our colleagues presented their research and projects.
A wide range of topics were addressed, including the design or transformation of high-rise buildings, a finite element model for steel joints, circularity, the strengthening of existing viaducts, and the stability of bridges under turbulent winds.
Jean-Yves Del Forno, managing director of the firm, opened the congress with the keynote lecture “Structures with Meaning: Designing for Society.”
